Soooo...after 4 1/2 hours at Gatwick this morning, I thought I'd make a heeeeooooge fry-up when I got home.  Grill on - 6 Porky Whites, 4 rashers of bacon under the grill. Slice the bread. 4 eggs for frying out of the fridge, heavy pan with a splash of olive oil on the hob - turn the hob on (touch sensitive thingy). The hob comes on briefly then turns itself off again.  Hmmmm....must be me. Try again. Same result. BASTARD device!!!

For the last few months the touch sensitive thingy for the hob has been getting more and more pernickety - any oily residue on it and it plays up a bit, but never before did it just turn itself off. Oddly, the touch sensitive thingy for the grill and oven has always been fine.

So I had to do with microwaved scrambled eggs with instead  cry:

An hour later I decided to "have a look" - only five screws held the hob on, so I whipped those out and had a look inside. Lots of wires and PCBs - obviously a knackered PCB I thought, so I just blew te dust out, made sure all the wires and connections were in properly and put it back together again.

Lo and behold, it works perfectly now  Shocked:
