114kg electric wheelchair in an Iberian Express baggage bin, amongst the other 81 bags. No notes on the system about it, so I was on my own and decided to lift it myself.

Not my best decision  NickSick

We are getting totally massacred at work and its only May. God help us when it gets busy...

We brought in 45 blokes from Romania - putting them up in local HMOs to begin with.  They now pay their own way...except 41 of them have left our company and now have different jobs at Gatwick.  The work/shifts are too hard apparently...

The same sort of ratios apply to the 23 Bulgarians, 27 Spanish and 16 Portuguese we brought over.

Total madness.

In my experience it's a fair enough airport.  Too late to say now but the Radisson right on the airport is a good place to stay and leave your car.
Well, whatever, nevermind

Management : "TMR, we'd like to promote you but you will have to work on some of the days you have booked off in June"

TMR "So you want me to fly back from Cyprus for 2 days and then fly back again? "

Management "Any holiday you have booked is not guaranteed if you apply for promotion which has a different roster"

TMR "You are deliberately putting obstacles in the way of aspirations.  Is it any wonder more people don't apply for promotion when holiday - which is hard enough to get as it is - is jeopardised. You are retards."

Management "YOU chose to apply. You have to make sacrifices. "

TMR "YOUR incompetence is biblical."

The thing is,  I have been "acting up" for the last month - doing the job I have applied for to cover when they are missing a Line Controller.  I have to say it is by far the most stressful thing I have ever done.  Far more stressful than presenting a make or break project plan to the board of Nationwide Building Society.

In 50 minutes I have to track about 15 flights, keep checking the ETAs, keep checking what stand they will be positioned on and then make sure that at least 45 baggage carts all get to the right stand at the right time. And then get the last few late check-in bags there as well. And lift hundreds of bags onto the baggage carts while I am at it.

All for an extra £0.47 per hour.

They want me to "act up" tomorrow.

If I don't get my holiday approved,  they can go fuck themselves

Latest offering from Management : "We'll fly you back from Paphos and put you up in the Hilton for the 2 days, then fly you back to Paphos. "

Latest response from TMR : "SMD"
