"it goes out dangerously overweight" scared2: scared2: scared2:

It ain't just the passengers and crew at risk
Indeed not, otherwise we needn't bother much.

Sunday night - 350 "passengers" and 766 bags. All marked "32kg" - but we weighed one at 47kg.

Tonight before I left at 1845, 366 passengers and we'd already had over 300 bags. All marked "32kg" - probably another 500 to come. One the bags was oozing a mysterious slime and smelled of rotting fish.

Utterly disgusterous.

Why not just refuse to load them?  Well accidentally leave it where it'll rarely be found
Well, whatever, nevermind

Can't you class items like that as a potential biohazard and pass it on to security?  rubschin:

Surely MedView won't be flying Douglas Dakotas and IIRC most modern planes have weight sensors in their undercarriages so the actual TOW will be recorded in the black box

So if someone was to phone one of the hotlines . . . . . . . .
Well, whatever, nevermind

Only 650 of the 796 bags made the plane last night - cargo took up too much space. The other 146 bags have to be "rushed" onto the next flight on Friday. Good luck with that.

Another thunk

IIRC the 32kg limit is a health and safety measure.  So if some fool at check in checks a 40+kg bag as 32kg then wouldn't blame=claim compo be involved if the bag lugger happened to then show signs of back strain.  Necessitating a period of time resting in the sun on some mediterranean island?
Well, whatever, nevermind

MedView supply their own check-in staff - they're not ours. I believe they have a "relaxed" attitude towards weight limits.
