I see BA have returned to Gatwick even if just with 3 planes.

https://news.sky.com/story/british-airways-sets-out-plans-to-resume-gatwick-short-haul-flights-and-compete-with-no-frills-rivals-12495764

BA never left and have had 9 or so 772s operating the Caribbean routes since the initial removal of travel restrictrions. BA short haul went, but they will be back March 2022 with the new "BA Euroflyer" serving the old summer, and winter ski routes. They are taking on a lot of staff and offering my baggage boys (and girl) better money - we are haemorraging staff. No-one has had a pay rise for 2 years, can't blame them.

easyJet is still the only reason Gatwick has survived this long - of the 195 departures today, 112 are ours.

Not posted much recently mainly due to being not able to add much in the way of anything positive. I watch with a mixture of bemusement and horror at how society is being divided over an illness with an IFR of 0.096%. Government figures. Yes, it can cause real long-term problems for lots of people - when I contracted the original Wuhan gookflu in December 2019, before it was fashionable, it flattened me for 6 days and I didn't really recover for at least 4 months. The same happens year in, year out with influenza.

I fully agree that those at highest risk should have one of the vaccines - it is the lesser of two evils. "15 million jabs to freedom" fine - you're an adult, do your own risk assessment and make a judgement. Don't start mandating "leaky vaccines" though...check out Marek's disease to see how that ends up.

Every night at work is "guess who's not coming in tonight" as staff use the sniffles to bunk off. "I'm positive on a LFT" they bleat. "Did you feel ill?" I ask. "No, but the LFTs are free so I test myself every day".Me : "Do you understand the meaning of free? Ever wonder why your NI contributions are going up, you fucking spazz? If you didn't test every day for something that will be a mild inconvenience at most, you'd be at work and not given it a second thought. Stop being such a pant-pisser and believing all you see in the mainstream news".

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Most of my 140ish staff have been poorly educated in this country thanks to the leftie blob and they are simply taught what to think, not how to think. They believe any old fanny spouted by the BBC, Sky, ITV etc and they follow it blindly, even though the reality is only a few clicks away if you do your own research.

All this is helped, of course, by our Company's decision to pay people to be off "sick" if they test positive. No sick pay if you have say, a bad back or hernia caused by the heavy lifting. A shirker's charter right there. And now, we aren't even allowed to ask for a "fit note" under 28 days absence, as the National Health System is geared up for the "booster effort" and ABC (anything but Covid) is quietly forgotten about and no doctor's appointments are easy to get. These same gullible fools also believe that the Government has their best interests at heart. This is, of course, bollocks. No government for decades has cared about the individual, they are simply farming them to meet their ends. IF they really cared about your health, they would have massively reformed the NHS yonks ago.

My brother and his new lady are both double jabbed + booster. She works in the Royal Marsden Cancer hospital in Sutton and has 2 tests per week. On Monday she tested positive. Initially, they thought she must must have been given the wrong results as 2 subsequent LFT and another PCR revealed negative. She was obviously very happy.

My thoughts were "A famous cancer hospital gets test results wrong. How re-assuring." That was lost her as she is another Branch Covidian, blinded to everything else.

This morning, she was tested again (in the car park)...positive... lol: lol: lol: Of course she feels absolutely fine and the reason given is "our tests are more sensitive than the general public ones, but you must still WFH until the quarantine period is over." Utterly farcical.

In my place, of the 1,500 or so, 1 has died WITH Covid, 1 hospitalised WITH Covid. Both had underlying serious health issues. 4 suicides after being made redundant last year.

I only know of about 20 of my direct staff who have chosen not to be vaccinated, most of these are from Moldova, Lithuania, Romania, Albania, Poland etc. And Charlie, British lad who served 2 tours of Afghanistan. The European contingent have a deep mistrust of all governments - with good reason - and recognise the small steps of overreach leading towards an unwelcome outcome. Most of them also realise that the individual risk to them is small enough that they won't indulge in the societal disruption their parents lived through. They came here for freedom, to work and to contribute. They ain't backing down, even though they accept that there may be a small number of casualties. They put our indigenous sheep to shame.

I'm back in Sunday night, for another round of "which bed-wetter" will it be tonight, simultaneously laughing and crying at what the myopic mass has become.

Merry Christmas  Xmas6: Xmas7: Xmas7:

Good. I'd hate it if everyone agreed with me on everything. I only repeat what I see with my own eyes - that's real world data from my perspective. At work, in the airside smoking area, my nose starts  to run. It's not Covid, it's not a cold, it's not the flu. It's the fumes from aviation and the attendant diesel vehicles. It's also the reaon for the higher than normal rates of lung cancers there. It's not the smoking, never has been, it's the other shite in the air you breathe. And genetics. Too many factors at play.

I'm lucky, no cancer anywhere in the family. We have a history of falling over pissed though, and cracking our skulls, so  I think that will be my demise. Ah well. Quite franky, the sooner the better.
