Well, that's it. Done. Very emotional night. Got spoilt rotten - 48 pint cans of Stella, Barbour slippers, a box of dominoes, new hair clippers, a fabulous bottle of Moet & Chandon (extra special bottle apparently) wonderful card signed by 150 people and £200 "because you'll need to go to the pub to relax and wind down" more hugs and kisses than a Hollywood celeb-fest.

The a special treat - Airfield Ops picked me up in their 4x4 and we did 2 runway inspections, dodging between arriving and departing planes. First was a condition report, second a runway lights inspection. FUCK ME THEY ARE BRIGHT. Phone camera doesn't do it justice.

Cor! Well done you!  Thumbs:

Yes, I've left. Yes, I shouldn't care, but also yes I do :-

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12185259/Chaos-thousands-holidaymakers-commuters-extraordinary-weather-conditions.html

Unless you've been there, unless you understand how a storm cell sitting over/near the airport for hours affects operations - be it delays, cancellations, aircraft out of position, crew hours, the next day's schedule etc. then it's probably best not to splash knee-jerk outraged headlines as if it is something avoidable. It isn't. Could easyJet have hadled it better? Doubtless. Did they have enough front-of-house or ramp staff? No, not by a long way. Never have, never will do unless you want hundreds of extra staff in every day "just in case".

Of course they could do it, but you won't be getting a return flight to Malaga for £49.99 if you want them to go down this route. Air travel has inherent risks, 9 times out of 10 you'll probably have no problems, the other time? Suck it up.

easyJet have 200+ departures per day and a fleet of 82 based aircraft - so when something like this happens, if affects them far more than someone like BA with 60ish departures or TUI with 20.

"Enquire Airline" = Cancelled

Messy for those there.

A message floods in...

Erm...had a bit of an accident Christmas day. Met my mate Iain for a few bevvies which turned into 10 pints of Guinness and 3 large Port&Brandies. Trolleyed.

Managed to stagger home (just) but came a cropper on the stairs resulting in 3 fractured ribs. Ouch for weeks.

Then man-flu hit and as I couldn't cough properly (too painful) it turned into pneumonia
