You think we're making light of it ??

Cop this!

For my part I am trying hard to ignore it until further information and better facts come to light.

Didn't mean 'you' personally to anyone here... a generic 'you'...

By comparison we're showing a measure of restraint... both ways  confused:
Like the Buddhist said to the hot dog vendor...
"Make me one with everything"

I just cannot understand that if the parent(s) did kill Maddie then where was the body for the three weeks? And if it was hidden so well that it wasn't found why not leave it there instead of hiring a car and moving it?

That's a very good point.
I have my doubts about this DNA sample they alledgedly found in the hire car.
Was it really there, or have they simply shifted something from the villa they found into the car?
Would the Portugese plod really do that though? eeek:

I know we can't solve the case, but I find the mystery side of all this very intriguing.

Inspector Morse ~ if he falls for the mother then we would know for sure she did it.

At the risk of repeating myself:
No child and no body ~ so what's to say?

Quite a lot it seems, see below:

We have no factual news coming out of Portugal. In fact very little news other than the stories "attributed" to unnamed "police" sources.

The only official statement issued by the police is that they have NO direct DNA evidence relating to Maddy and have now handed their files to the prosecutor for a decision. Under Portuguese law the "Prosecutor" will either tell the Police to arrest and charge someone, to seek further evidence, take more statements etc, send the file "upstairs" to a Judge for his/her opinion or to close the investigation. The Prosecutor has today sent the file to a Judge who has ten days to come to a decision.

No-one other than the Police and the Prosecutor knows what is in the files, the Judge has yet to read them. Anything and everything else is speculation.

The Press and other media are simply muck raking and frankly know nothing more than we do.

Personally, whilst I am sorry for the child, I have no idea what has happened to her, I cannot explain the actions of her parents  either when the child was "taken" or since (but I can say I would not have behaved the way they did on the night she vanished).

What is left to debate/discuss?

So we moved onto our usual trick of talking drivel, cracking jokes and generally lightening the mood.

Because there is nothing else we can do.

We have spent 4 months and 19 pages of debate and achieved absolute nothing of any real value. In fact our only conclusion is that we have no conclusion.

You think we're making light of it ??

Cop this!

For my part I am trying hard to ignore it until further information and better facts come to light.

Aw quit being so stuffy...  A bit of healthy speculation keeps the interest levels up.

Otherwise four months of damn hard work by the McCann's just goes to waste.  You wouldn't want people saying "Maddie? - Who?" now would you?   ;)

if they had done away with her wouldn't you think the parents have kept a lower profile?
