Well apparently it has been decided that the darling parents weren't neglectful due to their social standing, godliness and perceived intelligence.  They have been punished enough, so no prison sentence and two twins in extreme danger.

The Portugese Police have made enough of a hash of it that they will not be charged, or if the 1% option of abduction is the truth the person will not be found.

An innocent child has suffered at the hands of two horrible 'grown ups', I conclude that the World is a poorer place for it.

Was just watching the coverage of the drowned lad in Wigan. Parents evidently munters. Let the kids out alone to play by a pond. Criticising police/CSOs for not doing more.

Hmmm rubschin:

As we said, the McCanns are middle class professionals and left their kids alone while they went out on the piss. They met the effing POPE. WHy?

These two are dodgy.

WHole different story coming out. WHen do they get to see the POPE?

DOes that make sense?

The children in the Wigan case are much older, the boy who died was 10. At what age can you leave children alone?

30ish prolly.

That's one of the problems, I was allowed to roam free and came accross old quarry's, a disused factory with working machinery etc.  Could have quite easily gone horribly wrong but learnt many a lesson.

Worried about being over protective and my kids issing out on fun and/or becoming reprobates.  What to do?

Kids have checked out through many a generation, is it merely filling 24hr news channels that now puts the sh1t up every parent in the country?

Perhaps they were worried that people might think they were not fit to be parents?

You know, find an intruder in the room, don?t bother reporting it then piss off down the pub leaving the room unlocked with your three kids in it?

You can see how people might get the wrong end of the stick. You know what they are like...
