Every Sunday my Grandfather used to come to us from his "Retirement Home for Old Soldiers" and after lunch he would issue me with a handful of pennies (The old sort) and we would play gin rummy. I never ever won 'cos the old bugger cheated! I swear he recycled the same pennies 'til the day he died.
Saturdays, in the summer, he used to take me to watch Hampshire County Cricket play at the "County Ground" in Southampton. It was in the same road as his Retirement Home and residents got in for now't.
I still play Gin Rummy and Cribbage .... and can still usually win money at it! A good education I call that!
