Miss D ~ No laughing matter I know. I found it very hard. My thoughts are with you.

For what it is worth My FiL's ashes remain unscattered three years following his death. My BiL has them in an urn next to an identical urn containing the ashes of his partner's much loved dog that died a few weeks before the FiL (who hated dogs with a passion). BiL will not agree to scatter the ashes of his father as he is now unsure which urn contains Father and which the bloody dog.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

She is not going ....just me & my brothers and SIL's.
But yes, a nice meal is planned for the evening , where I believe I may consume one, possibly two drinks
