The dog man cometh...
« on: June 08, 2011, 04:15:52 PM »
Not in the biblical sense of the word as far as I know!

He arrived on time, so far so good, tall lanky bloke with a gold chain around his neck, not sure if it was a choke chain or not, and tattoos up his arms.  He sat down and took out some papers from his shoulder bag.  We sat chatting for 20 minutes or so.  Did the dogs bark did they hell.  Mr C arrives on the scene I go and make coffee and somehow during the brief time that I was in the kitchen the conversation had gone from dogs to photography. I end up looking up photographers for them on the interwebly. noooo:

One thunderstorm, six lightening bolts and an hour and a half later the dog man departed.  Had the dogs barked? Had they hell. evil:

Ten minutes after he had left did the dogs start barking, you bet they did. evil:

He is returning on Friday to sit on the patio for twenty minutes or two hours.

I am off to purchase a dog whistle.  I will practice on Snoops. eveilgrin:

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

I had to paws for a moment there before I answered but no they don't however he may have been referring to the dog man rather than the dog.

Let's not  whistle:

A dog walks on his toes like a horse, not the soles of his feet like a bear or a human. The dog's front limb assembly resembles the human arm with shoulder, upper arm, and forearm, but there the direct correlation ends. The human wrist is analogous to the canine pastern joint, the back of the hand is the dog's pastern, and the fingers form the dog's paws.

In back, again the upper part of the dog's body parallels the human leg structure with upper thigh joined to hip at one end and knee at the other and lower thigh leading from knee to heel. The dog's heel doesn't touch the ground, however; it is represented by the hock joint and the human foot becomes the dog's rear pastern, and the human toes are his rear paws.

Retired racing greyhounds have ear tattoos that identify their litter number and birth date.

The LEFT ear contains a 5 digit number that is assigned to the litter at birth. All pups in a particular litter will have the same number.

The RIGHT ear contains either a 2 or 3 digit number followed by a letter. The numbers represent the month and year the hound was born in. The first 1 or 2 numbers identify the month and the last number identifies the year. The letter signifies the order in which they were tattooed.
Examples:
110C - 11=Nov, 0=2000, C= 3rd pup tattooed
42A - 4=April, 2=2002, A=1st pup tattooed
