I got my winter onions and shallots yesterday.
Nice shots but no steam engine .... most disappointing
The thing that brightened my Tuesday...As a nipper about 40 years ago I remember seeing a programme that included a shot of a steam train crossing the Ribbleshead viaduct on the Carlisle to Settle railway. That image was stored somewhere in the back of my mind and ocasionally it would come back and remind me it was "one to tick off the list". On Tuesday I got to see it It was well worth the wait, what the picture doesn't show is that two minutes before, there was torrential rain, and that I was stood outside leaning into the car to stop myself from being blown over by the gales that were brought to me courtesy of the tail end of Hurricane Katia
Excellento DSI have shown the pics to Minor, who is a total steam freak, and he is lamenting that he was "Born too late"
