SWWLTBO has just texted to say that the "Prom" dress for the THW's graduation has been bought ~ I suggested they should hire one as it is for one night only but they have bought one instead. 2 fvcking hundred fvcking quid!

This whole thing used to drive me bonkers. When my son left school, afterall that is what they are doing I bought him a DJ from a local charity shop. He threw up all over it on the way home. Following morning he got to deep clean the car. The jacket hung outside quietly mouldering waiting to be cleaned until I threw it away. The girls were no a problem the village in which we lived had excellent charity shops a hire shop and a posh/designer second hand shop. can't imagine trying to kit them out in the charity shops up here.
Uni graduation IMO is a different matter. Daughter number 1 bless her wore a trouser suit that she already owned for work. Daughter number 2 was told (by me I hasten to add) that I would buy either her ball dress or her graduation outfit. Her stepmother buying whichever I didn't. Stepmother goes by the name of

Daughter very quickly decided that I would buy the party dress, it is halter-necked and whilst she is a bit overweight, she has a great cleavage, short, she has great legs, she's 5'9" and very bright.
