I am totally reliant on the leccy here. When there is a glitch in the supply (thankfully seldom) everything but everything grinds to a halt. No lighting, heating, cooking, 'puter, no work!
We do have 2 sets of gates however; 1 electric powered, the other manual ... so I can escape  angel1

Thanks...

You don't realise your reliance until it is gone... My gates have a manual override but you just don't think about it until you are sitting in your car waiting for them to open (having pressed the button)...  redface:

It makes me larf when these ecoloons in the UK (some of them government ministers) say that the power will go off because of more reliance on renewable... it isn't just a case of not being able to watch the telly any more, the whole of the societies infrastructure is dependent on it....  noooo:

Do you mean: -

a) after the power goes off to the fridge

or

b) after I pour them down my throat?

 lol: lol: lol:

Power here is not desperately reliable anyway so we are somewhat accustomed to it going off randomly for short periods... I think the worrying thing about this is that it could go on for months and months...

And of course, we are now totally reliant on the other power station so if anything went wrong there....  scared2:

And the fucking windmills aren't much help either!  cussing:

I have contacted Oxfam and the Red Cross ..... they emailed me a map of the Horn of Africa and added some pithy comments about priorities ....... seems they are too busy to help you.
