Lot of fuss and hulabaloo today about the airing of this 'drama' last night

Apparently the main argument is that the West family were not consulted and did not want the whole thing dragged up again in the meeja and that it is too soon for the victim's families. Although I'm not sure it would ever be the right time if we are looking at time limits for that. I can understand how it would be harrowing on all those families involved but this is something I imagine they are burdoned with on a daily basis .
I know they have the option of not watching this but I guess for them it is about having everyone talk about it all over again.
However this is fact and part of history now. Although I'd imagine Rose West would not be too impressed if she has hopes of parole at any time in the future

I did watch it last night. There will to my mind always be a sort if morbid fascination about these people , West(s) , Sutcliffe, Nilson. I thought it was a brave and insightful production , that didn't attempt to humanise or sympathise with West . It was done mainly through the interview process which was apparently true to the interview scripts and therefore not greatly misrepresented or over indulged.
The performances were excellent and it was interesting to view this from the 'appropriate adult' perspective. Apparently this was her first time of being asked to do this role.....you just can't imagine volunteering to do such a thing and your first case being a mass murderer such as West.
