I sent my MP a suitably changed email asking him to support the petition/campaign in the name of Antony Worral Thompson that calls for a partial lifting of the blanket ban on smoking to allow pubs etc to provide a specific smoking room if they so wish. I also pointed out that 25 pubs are closing every week and if the argument is to prevent young people lighting up it has woefully failed.
He replied

Dear Mr Snoopy
I voted for the ban on smoking in pubs. I am the chair of the All Party Heart Group in Parliament. My father was a 60 a day man and died at the age of 48 leaving a wife and five children. I think the ban has been a success. I will not be supporting Mr Worrell Thomspon's campaign.
