HEROES for Wenchy
« on: August 02, 2007, 03:40:03 PM »
I've started watching this show having had a colleage with sky go on about it constantly. Wenchy has also been watching it but as it wasnt making much sense to her either here is Heroes for Wenchy, as far as I can work out anyway.  rubschin:

As far as I can see the Indian scientist's father had been tracking people who had 'gifts' all over the world before his untimely death. His son takes over the reigns and in the course of trying to prove his father's research discovers that his father had been working with a guy called Syler who is involved in some rather grisly murders involving removing the brain of the victim. He has has someone try to kill him as well as having the living daylights scared out of him by cheerleader's father.

As for the gifted ones there is Hiro (the most entertaining of the group) starts off as a geek who discovers he can travel through space and time and even freeze time. Transports himself to Manhattan and sees a comic about himself so goes to track down the author Isaac (another gifted one who can paint the future). Upon arriving at the studio Hiro finds Isaac dead and is arrested by the police for his murder. While being interrogated he finds he has also travelled 5 weeks into the future and just manages to jump back again before a nuclear explosion destroys the city.

Webcam girl who seems to see another version of herself in the mirror who is capable of major violence, personally I cant decide if she is gifted or just a couple of coupons short of a toaster.

The telepathic cop who gets paired with the FBI agent chasing Syler after rescuing her when Syler almost makes her kill herself. Its a hunch but seeing as she is the biggest name in the cast I cant see her remaining a side character so I'm guessing she'll have some ability as well.

Indestructible cheerleader you already know about, although her father has some kind of secretive part in all of this.

The 2 brothers who can fly, one is a potential congressman or senator. The other one is caring for Isaac's GF's father although is in love with her.

Isaac the heroin junkie artist who has the ability to see and paint future events has now paiinted a huge nuclear explosion on his studio floor.

The show seems to be centered around the group coming together to stop the explosion, the eclipse also has something to do with it as I cant see them using that as the shows symbol for no reason.

Is that any help Wenchy?

So, to sum up, it is typical American network bollocks?
I mostly despair

If heroes gives him too much trouble and you have sky, try him with something easier like BSG  eyes:

Given the fact that it has a pretty blonde cheerleader prancing round in her uniform whenever she is on camera not to mention webcam girl I'm surprised you werent glued to the screen Berek  whistle:

I happened to catch this Heroes thing the other night, was it Part 1 & 2 back to back? Aside from being virtually comatose throughout and struggling to harness the bluntest of critical faculties, I'm inclined, on balance and without fear or favour, to conclude...

Parts 1 and 2 were last week I'm afraid so even if you had been fully awake it may not have made that much sense  noooo:

We don't have SKY. I refuse as Mr Wench has no self control where sky sports is concerned.

Is it typical American bollox? Yes it pretty much is but if you like that sort of thing it's pretty good.  redface:
