Trains abroad
« on: September 24, 2011, 08:44:23 AM »
In the process of sorting me forthcoming trip out into the wilderness.  Banghead
Now considering big silver berd to Geneva, courtesy of Council Tenant Airways 'cus it's dert cheap like, and then a Thomas the Tank steam engine  cloud9: ('opefully but probably doubtful cry: ) from there to Interlaken.
What problems am I likely to encounter, 'cus I've never been on their trains before?
Can I/should I pre book d'ya think, or is tha'ra bit dodgy in case the plane's late arriving like?

I'm a bit confuslicated, bewilderd and overwhelmed about it all tbh confused:

From Genvève to Interlaken you have two main options:

- Genève - Bern by IC/IR trains, change there to Interlaken, again by IC; there are connecting services every 30 minutes.
- Genève - Montreux by IR train, change there to Zweisimmen, change there to Spiez, then to Interlaken by IC again.

IR in this context = InterRegio, simply a train category; IC = InterCity, another train category.

As much as I like the sound of travellin' by train, I can see it being fraught with problems, and on ter own like, that's a recipe for ending up back from whence you me  came from like...inadvertanly invertly inavertuntly by  accident like. cussing:
